Electrical Technology Solutions is looking for motivated individuals with experience in the Power Generation and/or Industrial Electrical fields to join our growing team Our mission is to improve the uptime availability and overall efficiency of our customer's facilities by providing electrical testing, maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting/repairs to the facility's electrical systems and controls. This job will give you "hands on" experience with power equipment in the renewable energy field. As a small, but growing company you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects. Our growing list of clients includes more than 30 companies with over 90 power and industrial sites throughout our service area.

Pay Range: $30-45 per hour (DOE)

Responsibilities

The Electrical Technician can expect to but is not limited to performing the following:

  • Work on a variety of components ranging from low voltage control systems to medium and high voltage switchgear and substation components
  • Using meters and other specialized test equipment to test electrical components and systems.
  • Driving to client sites throughout New England and New York
  • Developing and executing simple to complex troubleshooting of problems and faults
  • Developing and executing repair plans
  • Performing maintenance and calibration of electrical components, instrumentation and control systems and documenting results
  • Working with operating personnel to develop and implement Lockout/Tagout Plans
  • Working with operating personnel to develop and implement safety plans and job briefs
  • Executing planned upgrades of equipment and commissioning including point to point verification and operational testing
  • Perform installation of new equipment

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Journeyman / Master Electrical License, or Electrical Technology or Engineering degree is preferred
  • 5 years' experience as an electrical technician or instrumentation and controls technician.
  • 3 years' experience as an industrial electrical technician or equivalent military experience
  • Possess valid US driver's license and clear driving record
  • Must be able to perform physical work in a power or industrial facility including wearing appropriate PPE, standing, kneeling, use of ladders both inside and outside structures
  • Must possess high aptitude in print reading
  • Must have experience working with some or all of the following
    • DC systems
    • Instrumentation
    • PLC systems
    • Medium and high voltage switchgear, breakers, transformers, CTs and PTs
    • Protective relays and relay testing
    • Generators
    • Excitation equipment
    • Motor control centers
    • Variable Frequency Drives
  • Safe previous work history
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime, as needed
