Our Client is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Exterior Painter / Prep Laborer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and painting exterior surfaces of residential and commercial properties to the highest standard. This role demands a dedication to quality workmanship, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work well within a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Surface Preparation: Clean, scrape, sand, and apply primer to exterior surfaces to ensure a smooth and durable finish.
  • Paint Application: Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes to exterior surfaces using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety and environmental guidelines during the preparation and painting processes. Understand and implement OSHA safety regulations.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Repair and maintain painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, sprayers, and ladders, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Team Communication: Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure projects are completed on time and to client satisfaction.
  • Worksite Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, properly storing materials and tools and ensuring safety.
  • Process Improvement: Report any issues or suggest improvements in the painting process to supervisors for enhanced efficiency and quality.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in exterior painting and preparation, with proficiency in power washing, scraping, and sanding.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of painting tools and equipment. Knowledge of various paints, finishes, and application methods is essential.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong focus on quality, with an eye for spotting surface imperfections and ensuring a flawless application.
  • Communication: Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or certification in painting or related field is highly regarded.
