Our client is seeking a highly motivated Signal Processing Engineer to join their team and support a variety of exciting engineering projects and programs. If you're an innovative self-starter with strong electrical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, they want to hear from you. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on challenging R&D programs that address critical national security needs. You'll be collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and subject matter experts, making meaningful contributions to their projects. Plus, you'll get exposure to the entire R&D process, from initial analysis to prototyping and testing integrated systems. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain a security clearance.

The ideal candidate will be an innovative self-starter with strong electrical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, holding a BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field. This position involves supporting senior engineers with design, development, assembly, and testing of complex electromechanical and autonomous sensor systems. A solid foundation in MATLAB and digital signal processing methods, along with experience in programming (e.g., C/C++/VHDL) and electronic laboratory testing equipment, is required. Applicants will also benefit from mentorship by professional engineers.

Responsibilities:

- Assist in the design, analysis, and engineering of advanced prototype electronic systems.

- Assist in the assembly and testing of electronic systems.

- Run experiments, collect and post-process data, and present results.

- Design and implement algorithms on embedded platforms.

- Travel for at-sea experiments and test events.

Required Attributes and Skills:

- Knowledge of signal processing and algorithm implementation.

- Experienced MATLAB user for analysis, post-processing, and data plotting.

- Knowledge of filtering, matched filtering, FFTs, digital up/down conversion, decimation/interpolation, FIR/IIR filters, encoding/decoding, and modulation/demodulation schemes.

- Experience with C/C++.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired Attributes and Skills:

- Familiarity with Xilinx SoCs and the Xilinx Vivado Design Suite.

- Experience developing on Microcontrollers, DSPs, FPGAs, System-on-Chips (SoCs), System-on-Modules (SoMs), and/or GPUs.

- Hands-on testing and debugging of electronics in a laboratory environment.
