Job DescriptionJob Description

We have immediate openings for welders in Ashland, VA. The welders made responsibilities revolve around welding/fitting on overhead cranes and components. Pay is $20 - $26 per hour based on skillset and experience.

Welder Responsibilities:

  • Flux cored arc weld to meet and exceed AWS D1.1 & 14.1 standards
  • Follow proper preparation steps to prepare surfaces for welding and fabrication
  • Proper tool operation
  • Weld in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
  • Monitor entire welding process to avoid bad welds and prevent overheating of parts, warping, shrinking, distortion, and expansion of material
  • Operate proper PPE(personal protective equipment) at all times
  • Follow safe work guidelines at all times

Welder Qualifications:

  • 2+ years field welding experience
  • Read and fabricate off of shop drawings
  • Ability to read AWS welder symbols
  • Able to pass full penetration vertical weld test and fillet overhead weld test
  • Must be able to proficiently operate tools of the trade
  • Reliable transportation

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift (6AM - 4:30 PM)
  • Monday to Friday, Saturdays as needed
  • Full-time

Salary:

  • $20 - $26 per hour Pay based on experience
