Job Title: Grant Writer

Status: Non- Exempt Full-Time

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Job Summary: Assist with the development and implementation of a comprehensive, integrated development plan to include local, state, federal, foundation, corporate, and individual support. Clearly articulate DVCCC’s mission, vision, and program in grant development. Prepare proposals and grant applications and performance reports. Research, identify, develop, and respond to public and private grant opportunities to support DVCCC’s programs and services.

Responsibilities:

•Maintain strict confidentiality of all clients, staff, and board personnel and financial information; keep donor information confidential as required by non-profit standards.

•Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs, and financial needs of the organization.

•Prepare all local, state, federal, foundation, corporate proposals, grant applications and performance reports by the timelines.

•Research and identifies new government, corporate, foundations and private funding prospects; maintain information on donor strategies and funding opportunities on the local, state, and national level that align with the mission and programs.

•Coordinate with staff leadership team the timely development of high-quality new funding proposals and reports.

•Ensure that grants are implemented in compliance with DVCCC’s protocols and relevant donor regulations, including maintenance of updated grant files.

•Organization of regular grant meetings; coordinate modifications to any projects (i.e. extensions, indicator changes,), as necessary.

•Responsible for donor compliance (quality narrative and financial reporting, procurement requirements, etc.) for all open grants.

•Manage all reporting deadlines, develop calendars for report development and coordinate report compilation and review.

•Manage and regularly update grants tracking to inform staff leadership team and CEO.

•Coordinate with donors on grants management, project progress, monitoring, and evaluation.

•Manage archiving of all grant files and institutional memory of grants and programs.

•Attend staff meetings and in-service training.

•Participate in all organization events: October awareness, volunteer recognition, various celebrations, etc.

Physical Requirements:

•Much of the work performed is sedentary in nature yet may require the employee to exert themselves with minimal force and/or be able lift or move light objects associated with the job responsibilities.

Other Requirements

•Must be willing to work flexible hours to meet program needs and grantor accountability requirements.

•Adhere to all agency policies and procedures (attendance, work hours, paperwork, etc.)

•Child abuse, criminal and FBI clearances as required by the state and DVCCC.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

•Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, creative writing or a related area.

•A minimum of two years’ experience in grant writing

•Excellent knowledge of proposal submission and fundraising process

•Ability to study and understand programs and funding requirements of the organization.

•Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources

•Multitasking, organizational and time management skills

•Ability to handle confidential matters with utmost integrity.

•Working knowledge of computers

•A knowledge base, education or training specific to domestic violence is preferred.
