Chicago, United States Greenwood Project Full time
Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescriptionGreenwood Project

The Greenwood Project was founded in 2016 based on two core principles:                            “Students can’t be what they can’t see”

                                                        and

“There is no lack of talent, only a lack of opportunity.”

GP’s mission is bold, essential and long overdue.  We are dedicated to creating opportunities for qualified Black and Latino college students to attain high-trajectory careers in financial services through rigorous training and internships. At Greenwood Project, we don’t just talk about change; we are the catalyst for it, breaking barriers and building a more inclusive and diverse financial industry. Our people are the foundation that allows us to achieve our ambitious goals. Becoming part of the Greenwood Project team means joining a group of driven, passionate and intellectually curious individuals. To work here is to be crucial to the organization’s success. Investment Banking Career Specialist

Reporting to the Director of People and Culture, the Investment Banking Career Specialist's priorities will be to support Greenwood Project scholars toward career pathways into investment banking. Additionally, the Investment Banking Career Specialist will support the design and development of effective systems to prepare students for internships in the finance industry. With the goal of students achieving full-time job offers, the Investment Banking Career Specialist ensures students are sufficiently prepared with professional skills, investment banking-specific knowledge, and understanding to support their job performance during their summer internships. The Investment Banking Career Specialist will manage a cohort of college students, supporting them through various methods, including but not limited to 1:1 coaching, small group development sessions, large group professional development, online coursework, and on-site events. As a member of the Greenwood Project team and a key driver of student experience and success, the Investment Banking Career Specialist will additionally support the development of our learning pathways and roadmaps, curriculum, evaluation tools, and other key impact measures. This unique opportunity allows you to have a significant and meaningful impact on the success of our scholars.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and coach a cohort of Greenwood Project scholars through hybrid, virtual, and in-person experiences with the aim of completing a successful junior-year investment banking summer internship.
  • Evaluate and track scholar success on internal rubrics and roadmaps.
  • Collect, track, and manage data relevant to the performance of students and regularly wrap up and report out that data to the team and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop and oversee systems for student support that are grounded in best practices for coaching and cohort development.
  • Research and understand best practices from organizations across sectors and use insights to support the continual improvement of coaching and cohort procedures and experiences.
  • Manage and develop scholar relationships that support retention and success through their lifecycle in the Greenwood Project program.
  • Develop and oversee investment banking partner feedback systems to ensure scholar success during their internships.
  • Support the strategic build-out of the program, including planning for scaling systems and structures for student development and investment banking internship success.
  • All other duties, as assigned.
