We are searching for an outstanding Senior Estimator to join our team. If you have 7 or more years of experience, a passion for construction, and an insane need and desire to be part of building great projects, then please read on

What you'll be doing: 

  • Become an indispensable part of the team tasked with winning new work and managing preconstruction by learning and applying DD’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Manage the estimating process from start to finish on multiple concurrent exercises.
  • Lead teams of other estimators on larger, more complex projects.
  • Assemble conceptual budgets and various updates during design progression.
  • Strategize with the DD team to develop a winning approach for each pricing exercise.
  • Review bid documents to learn the job, invite the needed trades, identify constructability issues, and find conflicting or missing information that needs to be answered or qualified.
  • Know and verify all bid submission requirements are completed on time.
  • Collaborate with DD Operations to develop the project schedule, staffing, and logistic needs.
  • Manage the RFI process between DD, bidders, designers, and clients.
  • Generate project interest, confirm bid coverage, and exchange critical information by interacting and developing relationships with the subcontractor community.
  • Develop scope checklists, level bids, and coordinate bid revisions with the subcontractors.
  • Build estimates capturing all needed costs and assemble final deliverables.
  • Participate in owner review meetings and presentations.
  • Negotiate and award subcontracts after a successful bid process.
  • Assemble and turnover project information to operations to run the job and collaborate with the project manager to ensure a successful project.

  • Knowledge of all types of bid processes, contracts, negotiations, and winning strategies for each.
  • Experience in assembling accurate budgets at the earliest stages with limited information.
  • Ability to perform constructability reviews, identify risk, and know how to mitigate it in alignment with the strategized bid approach.
  • Ability to lead and motivate other team members on group exercises.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Box, Bluebeam, Sage Estimating, ProEst, and On Screen Take-off.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
