JOB PURPOSE:
Our next Compliance Specialist – CFWB is responsible for serving clients who have various physical, psychological, and / or emotional problems to provide services that ensure safety, permanence, and well-being. The Division of Milwaukee Child Protective Services contracts with Wellpoint to provide child welfare services to about 900 families including nearly 1,200 children.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree or sixty (60) credits equivalent in Human Services/Social Work or related field required.
- Some experience working with children and families preferred.
- Ability to apply trauma informed care practices.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion when reading, typing, or hearing matters pertaining to clients.
- Ability to maintain accurate, current case record documentation.
A valid Wisconsin Driver’s License or occupational driver’s license, reliable transportation and insurance is required.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Family Services Support:
Provides culturally appropriate services in a manner that recognizes, affirms, and values the worth of children, individuals, families, and communities, protecting and preserving the dignity of each person.
Maintains and updates in-network service unit authorization for families in CoBRIS /POS software database to support Case Management (supervised visitation, mental health, etc.).
Conducts monthly follow ups with Case Management for timely re-entry.
Conducts and documents active efforts to locate youth missing from care per Ongoing Standards and DMCPS policies.
Communicates with Case Management teams regularly to communicate progress and barriers discovered while conducting active efforts.
Guides unlicensed relative caregivers through the Kinship Care application process by collaborating over the phone, over video chat, or through in-person meetings.
Partners with Applications Specialists by obtaining completed Kinship Annual Renewal paperwork from Kinship caregivers.
