Desert Sage Health Centers believes in patient-focused care delivered through a caring team of competent and caring health care professionals. As a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH), level two recognized organization, Desert Sage Health Centers prides itself in the quality of care it delivers to more than 6,400 annual patients at three health center site locations. Our integrated system emphasizes prevention, healthy living and is designed to reduce health care disparities and avoid unnecessary trips to emergency rooms or other more costly forms of care.
We are looking for an outgoing, compassionate, and hard working individual to join our dental team If Desert Sage Health Centers and the part-time dental hygienist position seems like a good fit, then please take a few moments to submit your application
Responsibilities
- Evaluate dental needs of individuals by conducting a dental history and reviewing their medical history
- Conduct oral exams of the hard and soft tissue of the mouth - checking for decay, plaque accumulation and other anomalies
- Evaluates periodontal health by probing
- Performs quadrant scaling and root planning
- Administers oral prophylaxes and tropical fluoride treatments
- Discusses causes and solutions of oral hygiene problems with patients
- Checks and maintains dental equipment and sharpens and sterilizes instruments
- Reviews annual dental objectives and maintains electronic dental records
- Assesses community dental health needs and helps develop and evaluate programs to meet those needs
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed as a Registered Dental Hygienist in Idaho
- Willing and able to carry equipment weighing approximately 40 pounds
- Licensed Idaho driver with dependable car
Preferred Qualifications
- Public health experience
- Experience working with minorities or disadvantaged groups
- Educator - experience with individuals and groups
- Demonstrated knowledge of current dental practice
- Bicultural/bilingual or experience working with Hispanic populations
