Summary:

Join our dynamic team at The Sebastian Vail as a Bartender. You will be responsible for preparing and serving classic and innovative beverages to our guests, ensuring a memorable and positive experience. This role requires a mix of excellent customer service skills, creativity in drink preparation, and adherence to food and beverage regulations.

Employment Type: Full Time, Year-Round

Start Date: ASAP

Pay Rate: $13.65/hour + Tips

Schedule: Flexible schedule. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve beverages to guests, including mixing drinks, cocktails, and other bar beverages as ordered.
  • Provide exceptional guest interactions by understanding and fulfilling customer needs and preferences.
  • Serve snacks and food as ordered.
  • Check identification to verify age requirements for alcohol purchase.
  • Maintain an attractive display of bottles and glasses.
  • Provide recommendations to guests and upsell products.
  • Offer guidance on resort activities, dining options, and general information.
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and refuse service when necessary in a polite and respectful manner.
  • Clean and maintain the bar area, including washing glassware and utensils, and performing general cleaning duties.
  • Set up and clean meeting rooms and banquet functions according to specifications.
  • Maintain liquor and supply inventory, preparing requisitions as needed.
  • Handle cash transactions and balance receipts, following cash handling procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all food and beverage regulations.
  • Actively contribute to team goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrate courteous and cooperative behavior with guests and staff, promoting a harmonious workplace environment.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of bartending experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage products, menus, and promotions.
  • Familiarity with department policies and procedures.
  • Basic mathematics and bookkeeping skills.
  • Proficiency in using POS terminals and inventory management software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service focus.
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
