Shodair is excited to be adding a Cytogenetic Technologist to the team on Helena, Montana The Cytogenetic Technologist performs laboratory tasks necessary for processing, analyzing, and reporting specimens from amniotic fluid, chorionic villi, fibroblasts, and lymphocytes for cytogenetic analysis. Maintains, harvests, bands, and analyzes all tissue types. Participates in quality assurance and improvement activities in the laboratory.

• Is detail-oriented and organized
• Can communicate effectively both written and verbally
• Can accurately analyze data and draw appropriate conclusions
• Has experience in or the ability to learn concepts of tissue culture and cytogenetic processes
• Works independently and meticulously
• Has experience working in a laboratory

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

• BA or BS degree in biological sciences required

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

Currently licensed as an ASCP Technologist in Cytogenetics or eligible to become licensed within a year. Inhouse training is available depending on other qualifications. Must maintain a license as a Clinical Laboratory Specialist from the Montana Department of Labor and Industry Professional Licensing Bureau.
