Position Overview

The VP of FP&A is responsible for providing financial planning and analysis to achieve projected performance and revenue growth. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating ethical judgment regarding business practices, compliance, regulations, and policies.

Work location: Clearwater, FL, or Denver, CO

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deep understanding of financial analysis and reporting, key business metrics, forecasting, and annual budgeting
  • Lead operational finance; optimize monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting processes and variance reporting, as well as monthly opportunity and risk updates to the guidance forecast.
  • Develop benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance.
  • Strong analytical based decision maker with a core business process focus.
  • Own financial planning, forecasting, and variance analysis, including owning business and revenue modeling.
  • Drive Company financial model (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), including forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior executives and functional leadership.
  • Strong management and leadership skills, with an excitement to both roll up your sleeves and be a thoughtful, company-wide partner.
  • Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing teams.
  • Oversee vendors and contracts, negotiate terms, manage renewals and eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Partner with the accounting team to evolve systems and processes to ensure accurate, detailed financial reporting.
  • Prepare material for board of directors and investor relation activities.
  • Analyze productivity drivers, identify risks and opportunities to business performance, work cross functionally to implement recommended actions.
  • Ensure a positive company image by working closely with industry, business, community leaders, and regulatory groups.

Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge

Prior executive/senior leadership experience in a construction, telecommunications/cable/MSO PE or similar environment.

  • 7-10 yrs. senior leadership exp., 3-5 yrs. industry exp. ($300M>, med size company)
  • Intellectual Agility: The ability to seek input, make connections, and recognize patterns that lead to effective decision-making and action.
  • Growth Orientation: The ability and instinct to identify and capitalize on a wide variety of opportunities to grow earnings and the business.
  • Expert Excel chops, including modeling and data analytics.

  • Highly analytical; excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Must be results-oriented and demonstrate the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
  • Prior experience leading and motivating teams across geographic regions, time zones, and business entities.
  • Ability to operate effectively across matrix organizations.
  • Verifiable relationship management skills.
  • Strong initiative, comfortable with ambiguity, and willingness to move outside of one's comfort zone.

The Environment

The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-changing, start-up environment where resources are optimized around producing measurable results. A heavy reliance upon industry partners and contingent resources is a crucial aspect of this role. The role will be predominately office with limited opportunities for hybrid work schedules.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or Accounting; CPA a plus
