Sr. Chemist

Eastridge Workforce Solutions is partnering with a leader indeveloping and manufacturing OTC products for the personal care industry in its search for a Sr. Chemist in Totowa, NJ.

Summary:

The Sr. Chemist will be responsible for developing and improving skincare products,finding new formulation technologies and materials. Additionally, interacting with various teams and clients,providing technical expertise and managing projects.

Responsibilities:

The Sr. Chemist is responsible for supporting the company's business events through a variety of tasks,including:

• Formulate and facilitate development of innovative skin care products, line extensions and productimprovements.
• Identify new/improved formulation technologies and implement them to meet project needs.
• Interact with customers and provide technical support via oral, presentation and written venues.
• Proactively scan and research new concepts, materials, technical opportunities and partnerships.
• Interfaces with all departments throughout the company and interacts with material suppliers.
• Monitor product stability for your own formulas.
• Effectively manage projects and provide weekly status reports.
• Supervise, mentor, teach, and lead junior chemists in color cosmetics formulation and color matching.
• Other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications/Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing skin care formulations.
• Must have experience in OTC product development.
• SPF and color formulation experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of formulations and scale-up.
• Detail oriented, highly organized and excellent communication skills are necess

• Up to fifteen (15) paid time off days will be accrued throughout the year prorated based on hire date and available to use after 3 months of introductory period.
