The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with Manufacturing, Business Development, Quality and Supply Chain. This individual will develop, evaluate, and improve customer quoting, manufacturing processes and efficiency in the UPM Additive Solutions business. Additionally, this individual will assure product and process quality by designing testing methods, preparing product and process reports, and contribute to the team through providing manufacturing engineering research.

WORKING HOURS: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. On-Site.

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

MANUFACTURING PROCESSES DUTIES:

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Develops and implements manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods, equipment, and new technologies; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods and control systems; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes; yielding in maximum efficiency.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing corrective action for nonconforming parts.

OTHER ENGINEERING DUTIES:

  • Programming of machine and measuring equipment; investigate programming equipment failures; diagnose faulty operations; provide solutions.
  • Proactively analyze, identify, and enact procedures and/or processes to resolve production problems and/or minimize cost.
  • Design of Manufacturing Equipment Fixturing, Tooling, Gauging Design. Machine Programming, Quality Engineering process design and implementation.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
