School Based Mental Health Clinician

Human Support Services is seeking to add a full-time School Based Clinician to our premier team of mental health professionals to provide mental health treatment in Monroe County, IL.
We are currently offering a sign-on bonus of $1000. Full-time bonus will consist of $500 after 30 days of employment and an additional $500 after 6 months of employment.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF WORK:
Directly reports to the Clinical Director for administrative and program issues. Is responsible for assessment of mental health conditions, treatment plan development, therapeutic services for adults, children and families, emergency services, community education, case management, assistance in program policy changes, supervision of practicum students, providing linkages, assistance in staff development and support, program and self-development.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF POSITION DUTIES:
1. To meet with the Clinical Director monthly and with other program staff for administrative program planning meetings. Participate in staff meetings, medical staffings, supervision, clinical staffings, annual evaluations, and other appropriate agency meetings.
2. Deliver clinical services to mental health clients, including, but not limited to, assessments, family, conjoint, individual, group, and marital therapy, and case management within the school setting.
3. Provide support for the agency’s crisis assistance service by handling calls when contacted.
4. Complete all necessary clinical documentation such as assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with agency standards regarding timeliness, content and format.
5. Meet agency standards for billable services.
6. Participate as needed in peer review and program evaluations.
7. Provide community education by making presentations at schools, social clubs, newspaper articles, etc.
8. Continue to acquire new clinical knowledge and abilities in order to improve outcomes of clinical services provided.
9. Other duties as are necessary or related to the successful completion of other stated position duties, or as mutually agreed.
10. Meet professional licensure requirements, as applicable.
The mission of HSS is to provide high quality, comprehensive services to Monroe County residents with mental health or substance abuse needs, or developmental disabilities. HSS is a private, non-profit community resource founded in 1973, providing confidential COA-accredited services.
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalence to
(1) a Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Behavioral Science,
(2) hold the Illinois State License in Professional Counseling or Social Work
(3) on-the-job experience counseling and adult/child case load, and/or
(4) experience and working knowledge of a community mental health setting.
Must have personal transportation and valid driver's license in order to move to and from assigned locations. Have normal hearing and eyesight or corrective appliances, which would allow for normal hearing and eyesight in order to relate to clients. Have the strength and agility to climb stairs and move around crowded areas. Have clarity of speech in order to make yourself understood by clients and others.
