Fire & Security Technician

Location: Moore, OK

Job Summary:

The Fire & Security Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm and security systems. This role involves working with both new installations and existing systems to ensure they are fully operational and compliant with relevant standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing top-notch customer service.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation: Install fire alarm, security, and CCTV systems according to design specifications and safety standards.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform regular maintenance and repair of fire and security systems to ensure they function correctly.
  • Testing: Conduct tests and inspections of fire alarm and security systems to ensure compliance with regulations and optimal performance.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with fire alarms and security systems promptly.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients and addressing their concerns and questions.
  • Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Training: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations. Participate in ongoing training and certification programs.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or certification in fire alarm and security systems is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in installing and maintaining fire alarms and security systems.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
    • Strong understanding of electrical systems and wiring.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as NICET (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) or equivalent are preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
  • Licenses: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
