Hospital Pharmacist

The Pharmacist is responsible for upholding the standards of care established by regulatory and accrediting bodies. The PRN Pharmacist participates in pharmacy staffing and assumes pharmacist on call duties when indicated. The DOP participates in the provision of daily pharmacy services including but not limited to the entering, verification, and filling of medication orders, restocking automated dispensing cabinets, and providing patient-specific pharmacotherapy recommendations and drug information as requested by the medical or nursing staff. The PRN Pharmacist provides pharmacy services within the scope of practice and in compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards. The PRN Pharmacist abides by all drug use policy and formulary decisions of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education:        Pharm.D. from an ACPE Accredited Institution

License:            Pharmacist License through the Mississippi State Board of Pharmacy

Experience:     3-years pharmacist experience in a hospital pharmacy setting
