Pay Rate: $20/hr. | Shift: 2nd


The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining all machinery and equipment in working order while maintaining environmental and safety compliance. Must have some welding experience, a skill they will use once hired on with the company.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

  • Ensure all environmental and safety procedures are followed and report all unsafe or non- compliant activities.
  • Maintain mechanical equipment to remain operational including chemical transfer pumps, vacuum pumps, valves, conveyors, hydraulic units, burners, mobile equipment, etc.
  • Complete work orders for issues with equipment.
  • Prompt response to operational downtime.
  • Maintain and follow preventative maintenance programs with accurate record keeping.
  • Keep the shop area clean and compliant with all safety programs.
  • Troubleshoot operational problems and work with engineers as directed.
  • Proactively detect, diagnose and repair potential issues using PM and inspection tools. Attend all training sessions and safety meetings.
  • Other duties as directed.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required. Experience in mechanical maintenance required (5 years minimum) Ability to perform cutting, grinding and welding activities. Willingness to learn the treating plant operation.
  • Ability to identify worn parts and knowledge of how to replace them. Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.
  • Ability to demonstrate behaviors conforming to Hoover's set of values and accepted standards. Ability to be self motivated to perform a task using his or her own drive or initiative.


SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Computer Skills
  • Be comfortable working within Google Drive programs, Windows based programs, using a word processor, and email. Must have a good knowledge of spreadsheets.
