TELLER JOB DESCRIPTION (28 Hours)
GENERAL STATEMENT:
To greet and welcome new and existing members to the Credit Union in a timely, courteous and
professional manner. Provide accurate teller transactions, keep within cash draw limits and
follow security procedures. Must be knowledgeable regarding all rules and regulations.
regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, security procedures and policies. It is necessary to cross
sell products and services, so our members are able to make educated banking decisions. Must
be able to work a flexible schedule to provide our members outstanding service.
I. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Greets members promptly in a courteous, professional and Timely manner.
B. Provides accurate and efficient member transactions.
C. Promptly and appropriately responds to the telephone.
D. Maintains insurance policies for equity and mortgage loans.
E. Appropriately files open and closed signature cards.
F. Recommends new products and services to new and existing members.
G. Serve members by opening accounts and process loan payment.
H. Demonstrates the ability to work as a team player, by adap2ng to necessary schedule
changes to provide quality member service to our members.
I. Must keep updated on all new policies and procedures and clearly understand and be
in compliant with the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act.
J. Supports and understands the Mission of the Credit Union.
I. BASIC KNOWLEDGE: Equivalent to a High School education.
II. EXPERIENCE: Cash handling experience, retail or customer service skills required. Self
motivated, sales driven and the ability to effectively communicate. Must have the ability to
work as a team player.
III. OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES: Must be computer literate and possess
working knowledge office equipment. Motivated to learn products and services along with
all required training.
V. INDEPENDENT ACTION: Performs independently within credit union policies and
practices. Refers specific complex problems to supervisor where clarification of
departmental policies and procedures may be required.
