Reports to:  Purchasing Manager


Department: Purchasing

 

Position Summary:  A Receiving Associate performs an essential role by receiving incoming orders, matching contents to purchase orders, and ensuring prompt delivery to the correct internal customers.  Attention to detail, organization, and self-motivation are vital to this position.  Improvement will be a primary focus to optimize processes and maintain efficiency.  Strong work ethic, integrity, and a willingness to learn and grow within the company are also an important part of employment with Idaho Steel Products

 

Essential functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


  • Utilize ERP system to accomplish tasks.
  • Follow designated process to receive incoming orders, match items to purchase orders, and ensure deliveries are complete.
  • Ensure quick and efficient delivery of orders to internal customers while following documentation processes.
  • Assist purchasing group with tasks as needed.
  • Follow purchasing and receiving processes to ensure accounting accuracy. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work well with other employees and the public, especially suppliers and production group members.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • After being trained and qualified on equipment, use fork-lifts and cranes for material handling.
  • Understand the safety policies of the shop and follow the shop safety practices.


Physical Demands: 


  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive motion (to include, but not limited to): sitting for long periods of time, working at a computer, and typing for long periods of time.
  • Must have the ability to adjust to working in hot, cold, or inclement weather.
  • Wearing required personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, work boots, gloves, etc.) when required.
