QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma or an equivalent
• Proficient in the English language
• One (1) year of experience painting and priming on aircraft, vehicles, or a similar product
• Flexibility to work any shift including evenings and weekends as necessary to meet deadlines
• Must be able to successfully pass a FIT respirator test
• This position is safety sensitive and is subject to DOT drug and alcohol regulations
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Set up, operate, and maintain tools and equipment
• Spray or immerse parts in cleaning solutions, sealants, paint strippers and corrosion-preventive chemicals
• Prepare the surface using wire brushes, chemical sprays, cloth wipes, water, degreasers, wet hone and various media blast
• Measure, mark and mask areas of parts to be excluded from coating
• Spray prepared surfaces with specified amounts of primer and decorative or finish coatings
• Use calibrated tools to ensure to proper coating thickness
• Touch up spots that may have been missed
• Transfer parts using hand pushed carts, and operate large commercial oven to bake coatings onto the parts
• Use proper personal protective equipment when applicable
• Maintain work records
• Follow prescribed safety regulations while maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
• Coordinate with Management and Inspectors to ensure compliance with FAA and internal quality standards
• May assist in Plating and sub-assembly as needed
• Train incoming Painters
• Delegate work tasks in the absence of the Dept. Manager
