Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Full-time Travel Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our clinical team. The traveling PMHNP will play a vital role in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions within our residential facility. The PMHNP position will be based out of our Eaton facility and travel throughout the week to our Hamilton, Fairfield, and Xenia facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients upon admission and throughout treatment to formulate individualized care plans.
- Diagnose mental health disorders, including substance use disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and others, using the DSM-5 criteria.
- Develop and oversee medication management plans, including prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams to provide holistic care, integrating medical, behavioral, and therapeutic interventions.
- Offer psychoeducation and counseling to patients and families on treatment options, medication management, and recovery strategies.
- Provide crisis intervention and stabilization as needed, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
- Participate in treatment planning meetings and case conferences to review patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with specialization in psychiatric/mental health.
- Current PMHNP certification and state licensure in Ohio.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a PMHNP, preferably in addiction treatment or behavioral health settings.
- Comprehensive understanding of psychopharmacology and evidence-based practices for mental health and substance use disorders.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and proficient computer skills.
