Project Manager

Our client, Metal Design Systems, Inc. (MDSI) is seeking a Project Manager to join their team at their shop located in Anamosa, IA.  Project Managers at Metal Design Systems seek to ensure the successful completion of all projects assigned. This involves timely and accurate coordination and completion of all project tasks, maximizing profitability while focusing on the customer.

PRIMARY OUTCOMES:

• Successful project implementation from start to finish.
• Effective management of all internal and external communication for each assigned project.
• Diligent fiscal responsibility for all assigned projects.

DETAILED TASKS, DUTIES, AND DELIVERABLES:

• Facilitate all internal and external meetings.
• Create and maintain the project schedule for MDSI including milestones, releases, and shipments.
• Coordinate all production release schedules.
• Identify all materials and suppliers required for the project.
• Complete the Material Order Takeoff, order material, communicate lead times, and monitor arrival of material.
• Review project specifications for understanding and clarification of scope.
• Identify submittal requirements and coordinate assembly of submittal packages.
• Review shop drawings to ensure accuracy.
• Review and reconcile budget.
• Coordinate field dimensions and/or scans.
• Create and obtain approval on Change Orders as needed.
• Work to ensure project issues are handled efficiently and professionally.
• Understand and promote the company vision and values.

REQUIRED TALENTS:

• Motivated, self-starter with attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, good communication skills who is highly organized.
• Ability to visualize concepts in 3D.
• Ability to work well within a team structure or independently.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Minimum of 5 years of construction industry experience.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.

EDUCATION PREFERRED:

• CAD experience
• Wall cladding design or installation experience desired
