Experienced Deckhand

Experienced Deckhand - Construction Division

Perform general labor type work onboard a construction tender boat that navigates the inland waterway system. Duties can include but not limited to; Responsible for housekeeping onboard the boat and barges; Handle lines and cables to put boat and barges together or drop barges; Chipping and painting; majority of the duties performed are outside subject to inclement weather (snow, ice, extreme heat, rain, fog, etc.; any other duties or directives as assigned by Supervisor.

• Must be at least 18 years of age;
• Must possess a valid driver's license;
• Must possess high school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to be gone from home for 28 days (work schedule 28 days on and 14 days off);
• Willingness to work night and day shifts;
• Ability and willingness to work over water;
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs and do repetitive bending and stooping;
• Ability to lift and carry at least 76 lbs. up and down ladders;
• Ability and willingness to work in extreme weather conditions to include heat and cold;
• Experience working in outdoor setting;
• Minimum 2 years' experience working on the water;
