Nurse Practioner
Job Type: Part Time 30hours a week
Location: San Diego, California
Schedule Range: Monday-Friday (7:30AM-2PM)
Responsibilities: Included but not limited to
- Work cooperatively with other health care providers and other staff in a multidisciplinary treatment setting
- Communicate effectively with a variety of individuals representing diverse cultures and backgrounds and functions calmly in stressful situations, which require a high degree of sensitivity, tact and diplomacy
- Registered nurse principles, procedures and techniques used in the care and treatment of medical and psychiatric patients
- Medical and psychological terminology
- Basic symptoms and treatment of alcoholism and drug abuse (including overdose), communicable diseases, and public health outbreaks
- Regulations pertaining to psychiatric nursing, basic behavioral symptoms and indications of mental disturbance and emotionally disturbed patient-specific to Title 15 of the California Health and Safety Code
- Clearly and accurately document patient information in the medical record including physicians orders, follow up from test results consultations (on/off-site), patient referrals, and other care and treatment communication(s)
- Use professional judgment to ascertain and apply appropriate intervention techniques with patients in crises
Requirements and Experience: Included but not limited to
- Valid California RN License
- Current CPR and Automatic External Defibrillator Card
- Class C Driver
- Correctional Health Care Professional is highly Desirable
