Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Technician

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Randy Larkin – General Manager

Division: Jay Henges Enterprises, Inc – Porta King Division

Location: Primary – Montgomery City -- Secondary – Earth City

Company Overview:

Jay Henges Enterprises, Inc is comprised of five operating divisions including commercial and residential flooring supply and installation, commercial and residential insulation supply, and installation (in MO and KS), commercial construction/tenant finish and manufacturing of in-plant modular wall systems and exterior prefabricated buildings (Porta-King Building Systems).

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of products that meet the needs and expectations of our customers. Will work with the General Manager and engineering team on identify areas of product and process improvement and develop new process to increase efficiency and throughput of products. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the creation of innovative solutions that will positively impact our customers' experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct user research and analysis to understand customer needs, preferences, and pain points.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, marketing managers, designers, and engineers, to develop product concepts and specifications.

Utilize design principles to create intuitive and user-friendly product interfaces and experiences.

Translate user requirements into actionable design solutions, considering factors such as usability, code compliance, accessibility, and aesthetics.

Develop prototypes and conduct usability testing to gather feedback and iterate on designs.

Work closely with engineering teams to ensure that user requirements are integrated into the product development process.

Document design decisions, rationale, and specifications to support the development and maintenance of product documentation.

Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to user experience design and product development.

Collaborate with the design team to develop and implement mechanical engineering solutions and processes.

Create and maintain technical drawings using AutoCAD as well as other CAM software.

Communicate effectively with production and engineers.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Solid Works.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
