Position: Tele Nurse
Location: Rochester, NY

Job Summary:

The Tele Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients in a telemetry unit, monitoring cardiac rhythms and vital signs. They assess patient conditions, administer medications, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality care. The Tele Nurse communicates effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support throughout their healthcare journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs of patients in the telemetry unit.
  2. Assess patient conditions and collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  3. Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and nursing protocols.
  4. Perform diagnostic tests, such as electrocardiograms (ECGs), and interpret results accurately.
  5. Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
  6. Document all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
  7. Respond to changes in patient conditions promptly and initiate appropriate interventions as needed.
  8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists, to coordinate patient care.
  9. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff, adhering to infection control policies and safety protocols.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in [insert state].

  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
