Job Summary:
The Tele Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients in a telemetry unit, monitoring cardiac rhythms and vital signs. They assess patient conditions, administer medications, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality care. The Tele Nurse communicates effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support throughout their healthcare journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs of patients in the telemetry unit.
- Assess patient conditions and collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and nursing protocols.
- Perform diagnostic tests, such as electrocardiograms (ECGs), and interpret results accurately.
- Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
- Document all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
- Respond to changes in patient conditions promptly and initiate appropriate interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists, to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff, adhering to infection control policies and safety protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in [insert state].
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a telemetry or similar acute care setting.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
