Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Assists Mortgage Relationship Officer with pipeline management, member services, and communication with mortgage CUSO or other interested parties.
  • Works members to provide various loan options that meet their needs while adhering to regulatory requirements and current pricing structure. Interviews first mortgage applicants/members and assists them through the application process. Collects and analyzes financial and other related data to determine the general credit worthiness of the prospect and the merits of the specific loan requests.
  • Assists the member through the first mortgage residential loan and application process. Monitors and provides complete loan applications to the Mortgage Department. Confers with department personnel to aid in resolving mortgage application problems. Acts as a liaison between the member and the mortgage department to collect all necessary loan documentation and closing documents, respond to any questions or concerns, and arrangements for closing of the loan.
  • Ensures the protection of the credit union's interests in matters of adequate documentation and adherence to credit union policy and the various laws and regulations applicable to department operations.
  • Provides support for mortgage inquiries in the Contact Center.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the field of 1st mortgages and changing government regulations, ensuring that the staff is kept informed.
  • Ensures the maintenance of good member relations in cases involving improperly completed legal forms, collection problems, credit decisions, and servicing operations in general.
  • Analyzes potential lending opportunities involved in each lending situation to further assist the borrower as well as increase the credit union’s lending portfolio.
  • Provides coverage to support lending department and member appointments at the Ewing Headquarters and as scheduled including alternating Saturdays.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Mortgage Relationship Officer.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus 1 to 3 years of experience within the mortgage industry a must.
  • Requires Notary Public certificate to execute documents on behalf of members and the credit union. If not already, individual would have 3 months to obtain.
  • Must currently or be able to be registered with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).

This individual must be available for scheduling during Credit Union operating hours. Staffing assignments are periodically adjusted to meet business needs. This position could be transferred to another office in the same geographic region at any time.
