Sampling Associates International, a bulk commodity sampling services company based in Hampton, VA, with multiple US and international operations, is offering an excellent opportunity for an Operations Technician at our operation onsite at Norfolk Southern's coal transload terminal in Wheelersburg, Ohio. The ideal candidate must have strong time-management skills, be dependable & prompt and trustworthy. Must be able to follow directions and work in a safe, efficient manner. Excellent customer service skills are also required.

Below is a description of the minimum skills and responsibilities needed for this position. These are not listed in order of importance or demand.

  1. Compliance with a minimum of Company and Site Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
  2. Proficiency with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
  3. Clean Drug/Substance/Alcohol testing
  4. Lift at least 16.0kg / 35.0lbs.
  5. Application of provided PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  6. Capable of working rotational shift work to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  7. Overtime when required.
  8. Work independently on shift.
  9. Assist and/or train, work, or travel (at Company’s expense) to another Operation or worksite.
  10. Exposure to weather – inclusive of significant high/low temperatures and all forms of precipitation.
  11. Brief or extended periods of walking, standing, ascending/descending ladders/stairs/sloped walkways; and walking or kneeling on uneven/unstable/weather-affected surfaces.
  12. Understand, read, and write the English language.
  13. Basic mathematics.
  14. Use of Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
  15. Data-entry
  16. Email and text.
  17. Legible handwriting.
  18. Use of a calculator.
  19. Promote and display a professional, courteous attitude.
  20. Minimum education requirement of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  21. Reliable transportation and a valid Driver’s license.
  22. Company background and Norfolk Southern eRail check.
