Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Summary: This individual will be responsible for performing the daily husbandry aspects of all animals in compliance with GLP, USDA and AAALAC guidelines.

Essential Job Functions:
· Handles animals humanely.
· Daily feeding of animals.
· Washing and changing of animal cages.
· Receives shipments of feed, bedding and other materials.
· Disinfects laboratory daily.
· Maintains accurate documentation of logs.
· Training new staff.
· Works on routine assignments per written procedures, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
· Normally receives minimal instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.
· Works under close supervision from supervisor or senior personnel.
· Performs support functions (e.g. Runner function)
· Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required.
· May be required to work Holidays and weekends.
· May be required to work overtime.
· Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals.
· Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
· Thorough understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices.
· Other duties as assigned.
· May be required to assist in other departments.

RequirementsJob Requirements:
Experience / Education
· High Diploma or equivalent education preferred

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
· Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills
· Need to be able to read, write and understand English
· Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)
· Good Documentation Practices experience preferred
· MS Excel and Windows experience
Physical Requirement:
· Must be able to work in a Lab setting with exposure to animals/bio hazards/chemical
· Must be able to wear appropriate PPE
· Must be able to work in environment with minimal noise levels
· Ability to stand for long periods of time
· Clarity of vision
· Ability to identify and distinguish colors
· Must be able to perform activities with repetitive motions
· Ability to lift 50 lbs routinely/often/occasionally
· Ability to crouch, bend, twist and reach
· Ability to push/pull 50 lbs routinely/often occasionally
· Ability to work in variable temperatures high to freezing
· Inside working conditions
· Must not have animal allergies to applicable species in this facility
