Dispatcher

Dispatcher Responsibilities:
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls and document important information
- Use phone and computer to direct wrecker drivers and road service technicians to the appropriate location/task
- Prioritize and organize calls according to urgency, customer requests, and predetermined schedule
- Maintain frequent communication with drivers and techs on the status of calls
- Responds to and takes immediate action to resolve customers and driver/tech problems
- Reply to customer emails regarding truck and heavy equipment tows
- Understand tow truck loading and tow/recovery rigging basics, or the ability to quickly learn
- Making, answering, and directing phone calls and the distribution of messages
- Data entry into the Tidewater Express Inc accounting system and filing records as needed
- Ensuring the correct paperwork is complete and prepared according to corporate procedures
- Any other duties as assigned by the Dispatch Manager or the wrecker division Director of Operations
Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong knowledge of emergency response procedures
- Should have a “team first” attitude and maintain our team atmosphere even in hectic times
- Maintain a safe work environment
- Must have interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office and data entry
- Weekday night and weekend availability to be in dispatching duty rotation with the other dispatchers
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
