Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Aquatic’s Director the Pool Manager will assist with the supervision and evaluation of lifeguard staff, schedules and coordinates lifeguard trainings, and ensures all certification requirements are met by staff. Focus will be on providing a safe and clean atmosphere for pool patrons.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Supervise pool staff including the implementation of their schedule and ensuring their time cards reflect hours worked by payroll closing date.  
  • Oversee the implementation of aquatic activities and schedules, and assists in leading aquatic activities not limited to swim lessons, water exercise and lifeguard classes. 
  • Work with the Aquatic Director to recruit and hire diverse staff and volunteer teams across multiple dimensions of diversity. On boards and develops them for success. Conducts and helps implement lifeguarding, swim instruction, First Aid and CPR trainings.
  • Maintains positive public relations at the swimming pool.
  • Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility. Responds to any participant concerns in a timely manner.
  • Monitors daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health and safety regulations and conducts and ensures proper maintenance of pools. Maintains accurate records of pool chemical levels and facility maintenance, and has knowledge of all safety and emergency procedures.
  • Maintains discipline at the swimming pool facility and supervises all staff enforcing pool rules.
  • Maintains a clean facility; including but not limited to, bathrooms and trash pickup.
  • Receives and accounts for all monies collected, and conduct deposits in a timely manner. 
  • All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.  
  • Three years’ prior experience in aquatics teaching children and adults.
  • Two years’ prior experience in supervision.
  • Current certification in Standard First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Lifeguard Instructor Completion of the YMCA of Superior California Pre and Post-Employment Checklist.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to supervise program activities.
