Fleet Mechanic

Duties/Responsibilities

· Responsible for the inspection and prompt, efficient thorough maintenance and repair of all company vehicles, with guidance from the Lead Fleet Mechanic.

· Assist in ensuring shop responsibilities are being carried out efficiently and accurately.

· Execute preventative maintenance and servicing for all fleet vehicles in accordance with company standards.

· Properly maintain materials, tools and equipment.

· Assist in facility duties and securing assets.

· Assist with maintaining daily records of supplies, vehicles and equipment.

· Assist with the planning and procurement of materials and consumables as required.

· Attend and successfully complete relevant on the job training as required.

· Complete ASE Certification for Medium-Heavy Truck Service (T1-T8 Series)

· Ensure that vehicles can pass roadside inspections

· Represent Reid Petroleum in a professional manner by always performing exemplary customer service skills.

· Perform miscellaneous duties as required.

Physical Demands

· Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop and reach for long periods of time

· Ability to read, write and have basic math skills

· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

· Ability to withstand the effects of adverse weather conditions

· Ability to report information (written or electronic) correctly

· Ability to lift 75 pounds

· No sensory aversion to petroleum products

· Work near mechanical parts

· Fumes or airborne particles

Toxic or caustic chemicals

Minimum Qualifications

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Minimum 18 years of age

·Experience in Diesel Mechanics preferred

· General knowledge of building and grounds maintenance

· General computer knowledge

· No sensory aversion to petroleum products

· Valid Class D NYS drivers license with ability to gain CDL-A including hazmat and tanker endorsement for future needs
