Working in our Resident Services Wellness Department, your assistance is key in helping residents take their medications safely, consistently and as directed by their physicians. This is a key area where our residents count on reliable support, and your attention to detail and disciplined approach will make a positive impact on their lives. Your role is essential to the care and safety of residents who choose to call The Bristal home. The attentive and loving care you bring to the medication services you provide are fundamental to the quality of life and the general wellbeing of our residents every day. Additional responsibilities include:Assisting residents manage Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and the administration of their medicationsFollowing all policies and procedures, and adhering to the instructions ofthe Nurse Shift Supervisor andthe Director of WellnessEnsuring the safety and wellbeing of all residents, while following company policies and proceduresFollowing Medication Administration Records (MAR) and doctors' orders Qualifications:Experience assisting those with Alzheimer's disease and dementia is a plusMaintain an abiding respect for the elderly and remain calm at all timesExtremely reliable, dependent and observantAbility to work one weekend day per weekMust have at least an HHA certificateSolid understanding of MAR's and doctors' orders a plus (but we will train the right individual) Looking for a career where you can make a difference in someone else's life? Come join us We are seeking a creative, compassionate, hands-onRecreation Activities Assistantto assist in presenting and coordinating recreational programs for our assisted living residents, as well as residents with Alzheimer's disease or dementia inour dedicatedReflections Memory Care Neighborhood. You will assist residents in making the adjustment to a new concept of living at our luxury assisted living community, not only encouraging them to continue pursuing their interests, hobbies and lifestyle activities, but also to develop new and stimulating interests, as well. You will help plan fun and safe trips to suitable destinations, such as art galleries, theaters, music venues, racetracks, sports events as well as religious and cultural programs. You will also help prepare, print and distribute copies of our monthly calendar, newsletters and memos to residents. You will also be expected to perform planned activities in the absence of the Director of Recreation. In this role you will maintain a knowledge of resident backgrounds, hobbies, special interests, and spoken languages, etc., and use this knowledge to encourage resident engagement and participation. The loving attention you bring to the assistance you provide is fundamental to the quality of life and the general wellbeing of our residents every day. Full Time, Part Time, and Per Diem schedules available The ideal candidate will have the following skills/qualifications:One year's prior experience working with a senior population, and those with Alzheimer's disease and dementia a plusAt least 6 months of Recreation activity experience (art therapy, music therapy) or event leadership experience, and preferably in assisted living, long-term care or a similar industry settingBe outgoing, warm and have a genuine caring personalityAble to create programs that get residents involved and excitedBe dependable and able to supervise activities, special events and safe excursions for the residentsHas creative talents in one or more areas, such as art, music, readings, dance, etc.Always maintaining oneself well-groomed and properly attiredDemonstrates good listening and communication skills and always presents a positive spirit and professional attitudePossesses a proven ability to lead classes and other instructional learning sessions and speak in front of a group setting with ease, confidence and clarityHolds a high school diploma or equivalent at a minimum Must have or be willing to get a COVID-19 vaccine, subject to legalaccommodations Looking for a career where you can make a difference in someone else's life?
