Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director, Data Science, you will be the analytical leader in a group that leverages high-throughput experimental data to identify novel treatment modalities for complex diseases.

Your primary responsibility is to develop analytical program strategies, vet assays, and compose bioinformatics pipelines for streamlined data ingestion and insight generation. You will also leverage deep learning models to synthesize biological data for the development of novel synthetic biomolecules.

Location: This is a hybrid role working onsite at our Chicago office 3-4 days per week.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as the lead computational scientist on a program, providing the strategic direction on both data modalities and deep learning modeling.
• Apply bioinformatics knowledge to identify combined assays and analytical approaches that best capture a biological phenotype of interest.
• Analyze experimental data across various data modalities to provide insights and optimization approaches.
• Own the development of reproducible pipelines to synthesize high-throughput experimental results into features amenable for training deep learning models.
• Identifies issues in experimental pipelines and proposes experiments and analyses to improve such issues.
• Seek solutions for the limitations of high throughput and high data volume ‘omics-level’ assays.
• Derive analytical insights from experimental results that drive the direction of product teams.
• Apply the latest insights in deep learning and bioinformatics to Evozyne's current design challenges, which enhance modeling capacities.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of scientific industry experience in project strategic development.
• Extensive knowledge in molecular biology and omics assays, with a preference for immunology.
• 3+ years of experience analyzing omics-level biological datasets for biomarker discovery (RNA-seq/proteomics/imaging).

Education:

PhD with a molecular biology focus and 3+ years relevant postdoctoral or industry experience or master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, including leadership positions.
