The Site Manager oversees and manages all activities of the facility, profit and loss statements, team performance, ensuring exceptional customer service by supervising, monitoring and managing operational goals and company objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Handling the day-to-day management of the warehouse and its team associates.
  • Ensuring the site is following safety practices.
  • Ensure the customer requirements are being met.
  • Monitoring the performance and progress of staff.
  • Motivating, organizing and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity targets are met.
  • Ensure all associates are following policies and procedures.
  • Hold weekly safety meetings.
  • Forecast and monitor associate staffing to prescribed operational levels and provide recommendations to effectively address operational and HR related issues or problems.
  • Schedule one on one meetings with employees and supervisors to discuss individual growth opportunities.
  • Ensure quality inventory control through managing cycle counts.
  • Must be aware of what is going in and out of facility.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business or related field preferred.
  • Must have at least 10 years of Management Experience in Distribution/Logistics - 3PL Preferred.
  • Knowledge of P&L.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills Needed:

  • Lean 6 Sigma
  • Skilled at counseling/teaching/training exempt and nonexempt associates
  • Understanding and execution of good safety practices
  • Inventory control management
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to motivate work force
  • Knowledge of conflict resolution and associate problem solving

About Palmer Logistics

Palmer Logistics is a 3PL handling commodities such as hazardous chemicals, non-hazardous chemicals, food grade, and other general commodities at our facilities. We offer specialized services to our customers, such as customized reporting, labeling, repackaging, and other services.

Palmer Distribution Services, Inc. was started in the mid-1960s by Frank Rifeschlagger as a public warehouse and trucking company servicing the grocery and chemical industries in Houston, TX. The name comes from a street where the first warehouses were located. After William Hermann took over and provided services, he successfully revitalized during the 1980s. In 1988, Hermann Services acquired Palmer as part of an effort to expand its operations regionally. The Palmer name was used for 9 years until 1997, when the division was renamed Hermann Warehouse Southwest, but it was short-lived after the division was renamed in 2000. The Palmer name was restored at this time with a slight change to our current trade name, Palmer Logistics.

Today, Palmer Logistics is a successful regional provider based on the fundamental philosophies that have enabled the Hermann family's success for four generations: reliability, customer service, and uncompromising integrity.
