Job DescriptionJob Description

Boston Speech Therapy is currently hiring a Certified Reading Specialist to join our team. As a Certified Reading Specialist, you will be responsible for providing specialized instruction to students who struggle with reading and literacy skills. You will work closely with students, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized plans and interventions.

This is a part-time position, requiring 8 hours per week, and the rate is $60 per hour.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate students' reading abilities and identify areas of need
  • Create and implement individualized reading plans and interventions
  • Deliver direct instruction and support to students to improve reading fluency, comprehension, and phonics skills
  • Utilize evidence-based reading strategies and materials to enhance students' literacy skills
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to monitor students' progress and adjust instruction as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and interventions

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Reading Specialist
  • Prior experience working as a Reading Specialist or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based reading instruction and intervention strategies
  • Familiarity with the OG or Wilson reading program is a plus
  • Ability to assess students' reading abilities and develop individualized plans
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and a multidisciplinary team
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
