Position Overview: Inside Car Buyer As an Inside Car Buyer at Fenix Parts, you will be responsible for purchasing vehicles from walk-in customers and online inquiries. Your role involves inspecting vehicles, pricing them according to condition, and coordinating the pickup of purchased vehicles. This is a key role that requires attention to detail and excellent communication skills to interact with customers in person, over the phone, and via email.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Interaction: Engage with walk-in customers to inspect and purchase vehicles.
  • Vehicle Inspection: Assess the condition of vehicles, verifying components such as engine, transmission, and catalytic converter, and price the vehicle accordingly.
  • Phone and Email Communication: Communicate with customers over the phone and through email to price vehicles, arrange pickups, and complete sales.
  • Website Interaction: Use online platforms (e.g., Car Brain, Wheelzy) to interact with customers and facilitate vehicle purchases.
  • Payment Processing: Print checks or provide receipts for cash for purchased vehicles.
  • Wrecker Dispatching: Dispatch wrecker drivers to pick up purchased vehicles.
  • Bill of Lading (BOL) Creation: Prepare BOLs for commodities being shipped.
  • Payment Application: Apply payments for shipped commodities.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in automotive sales, purchasing, or a similar role is preferred. Essentially, we’re searching for someone with strong vehicle knowledge and office experience.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with customers via phone, email, and in person.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer operation experience including proficiency with email and web-based platforms.
  • Vehicle Knowledge: Ability to inspect vehicles and assess their condition.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Physical Ability: Capable of performing light physical tasks, including walking the yard to inspect vehicles.
