Job Title: Bilingual School Psychologist

Location: Illinois School District

Our school district is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Bilingual School Psychologist for the 2024-2025 school year. This pivotal role is designed to support our diverse student population, providing essential psychological services in both English and Spanish. As a Bilingual School Psychologist, you will play a critical role in assessing student needs, delivering interventions, and supporting the mental health and academic achievement of students. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, focusing on enhancing educational outcomes for bilingual students.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations of students in both English and [insert language] to identify learning, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Develop and implement intervention strategies and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with educators, parents, and other professionals.
  • Provide direct support and counseling to students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, and families to support the academic and social development of students, offering insights and strategies tailored to bilingual learners.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing bilingual expertise to facilitate comprehensive educational planning.
  • Advocate for the needs of bilingual students and work to ensure equitable access to educational resources and support.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of assessments, treatments, and communications.


Requirements
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology or Educational Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Illinois School Psychologist License
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting, preferably with a bilingual population.
  • Strong understanding of cultural competency, with the ability to engage effectively with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of psychological theories, assessment tools, and evidence-based practices relevant to a bilingual educational setting.
