The GM will create passion and enthusiasm for and with the team and the culture of the brand They will ensure that the standards are executed in a fast, friendly and accurate manner every day and carry enough wisdom and experience that excellent team members are attracted to, consistently engaged with, adequately challenged and always growing while working for you.
The GM is responsible for the overall smooth operation of Haoles and the atmosphere of Nourishment, Growth, and Movement through teamwork, motivation and strong leadership.
The GM assists the owners and EGM through a continuous feedback loop to grow and develop changes and capture the right fit for culture quickly to grow the operation to its fullest potential. The GM also overlaps into the kitchen as a partner to the Culinary Director and oversees the entirety of the operations at a high level as a mentor to baristas and the leads alike. The GM also guides and supports marketing as a partner to the Marketing Director and assists with marketing initiatives and the upkeep of marketing collateral.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
Leadership: Responsible for creating and enhancing a restaurant culture that drives excellence in every aspect of hospitality success including top line revenues, excellent service standards, high quality product from the barista teams, dynamic culture, strong morale, and superior profit management to achieve financial goals.
Establishes, directs and reviews food and beverage outcomes to ensure adequate accountability, quality, presentation and service performance.
Contributes to SOP development and contributes along with other managers to the weekly manager meetings with intent to share organization wide best practices.
Team Development: Fully responsible for Haole's hiring, training, and development processes. Oversees mentoring of new and current baristas as well as cultivating new potential leaders. Coaching each lead to perform their role to the highest standards.
Establish, direct and review performance standards in both juice bars to ensure that fast, friendly and accurate results are achieved so that every guest has their own great experience.
Champion Haole's recognition and rewards effort through acing 1:1 feedback and group recognition. Incentives sales initiatives that directly benefit baristas to boost sales volume during off season or low sales actuals.
Directly involved in and follows up on all disciplinary action and performance improvement plans with a tailored approach for each barista or lead.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with your team, the community and all stakeholders who support your operation – you are the ultimate ambassador of the brand
Operational Excellence: Conducts daily audits and line checks of each juice bar to ensure preparedness and excellence in all areas. Performs in the role of project management of multiple programs and priorities of Haole.
Monitors, directs and coordinates any repairs or maintenance within both juice bars as well as ensures both juice bars are attractive and comfortable to guests and team alike. Large ticket items requiring approval or accrual planned with ownership in a timely and cost effective manner.
Financial Management: Key contributor to rightsizing financial and long term planning. Maximizes annual, quarterly and weekly budgets for each juice bar, keeping spending low while growing and developing sales initiatives. Manage clock-ins, labor budgets, payroll, and scheduling for Haole team.
Prepares all financial and operational weekly reporting required for delivering and analyzing the financial results of the juice bars on a regular basis. Reviews any significant variances from the budgeted figures and crafts strategic spending to offset costs. Ensures practices meet or exceed yearly financial targets.
Monitors the expenses of the restaurant to ensure that effective cost-containment practices are in place. Also ensures that operating expenses are in line.
Produces approved budgets, and operates within established guidelines regarding costs, expenses, sales and profits.
