A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CERTIFIED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN - VET TECH

As a CVT, you are the right hand for our veterinarian Your kind, calming demeanor reassures clients and puts cats and dogs at ease. As a skilled technician, you have the expertise to take x-rays, complete thorough dental cleanings, and accurately chart patients.

You also play a vital role during oral surgery procedures, assisting the veterinarian by sterilizing instruments and prepping patients with IV catheters. As a careful and attentive professional, you're entrusted with administering and monitoring anesthesia during surgery. Afterward, you aid in the discharge process, explaining post-care procedures and medication regimens as directed by the veterinarian. Self-motivated and eager to learn, you seek out opportunities to grow and take advantage of our continuing education stipend. You love helping our clients and patients, and you're glad you chose to further your career at our specialized practice


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Oregon certified vet tech license OR eligible through OVMEB to become licensed
  • Ability to assist during advanced oral surgery and dental procedures
