Job Overview:

We are seeking a experienced Director of Nursing to lead and manage nursing operations at a state operated long-term care facility in Flagstaff. This role involves overseeing the clinical management of residents with moderate to complex medical needs within a skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will bring advanced nursing expertise, a strong grasp of relevant regulations, and a proven ability to manage nursing staff effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Management: Apply advanced nursing knowledge to manage and care for residents with a range of medical conditions commonly found in skilled nursing facilities.

  • Policy Adherence: Ensure all nursing practices align with established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including OBRA, OSHA, and other relevant regulations.

  • Employee Management: Oversee scheduling, training, supervision, and performance management of nursing staff, ensuring high standards of care.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain and enforce compliance with regulatory requirements, particularly those related to resident assessments, care planning, and quality assurance.

  • Human Resources: Lead efforts in recruiting, interviewing, training, and coaching nursing staff. Handle disciplinary actions when necessary.

  • Systems Design & Implementation: Develop and implement systems to improve workflow, scheduling, quality assurance, and monitoring of quality indicators within the facility.

Preferred Experience:
  • Previous experience working in a Skilled Nursing or Long-Term Care facility.

  • Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or management role within a nursing environment.

Required Qualifications:
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Arizona.

  • Fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Preferred Education:
  • A 2-year or 4-year degree from a nationally accredited nursing program is preferred.
