Job Description – Energy Manager
Please note that a candidate for this position must have experience in energy engineering, project management, and/or building services.
General. New regulations and a new vision for low-carbon buildings are upon us Properly addressing rising energy costs and penalties for large energy/carbon consumers is a priority for real estate owners, but they need an experienced, diligent, and responsive team of professionals to depend on.
We ensure our customers receive this service, consistently through our engagements. We provide high-quality technical services to real estate firms to navigate regulatory concerns (Local Law 97), and reduce energy, and operating costs. This is accomplished for commercial and large residential buildings by identifying viable capital improvements, completing concise and actionable technical reports, and ultimately serving as our clients’ expert in managing all aspects of project implementation. Position Background. The Energy Manager will support the company owner directly and manage project documentation, complete complex energy savings calculations, serve as an expert on utility (Con Edison) incentive programs (C&I and MFEEP), and present technical details in a concise and organized fashion for our clients to approve capital projects.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Complete engineering calculations of energy savings and carbon emissions (Local Law 97) savings and calculate return on investment based on budget cost.
2. Organize project documents in the project directory with proper naming conventions and filing.
3. Manage project tracking in Monday.com and notes.
4. Compile, submit, and track utility incentive application packages- ConEd C&I Program and Multifamily Energy Efficiency Programs, etc.
5. Schedule meetings and presentations in Microsoft Outlook.
6. Support miscellaneous company Operations – requires an organized process of communicating with various support vendors and tracking tasks.
7. Manage bid processes and coordination with vendors/subcontractors.
8. Develop reports and case studies.
9. Ensure on-time delivery of high-quality, detailed, error-free products.
Experience Requirements:
· Experience in Energy (Mechanical and/or Electrical) Engineering and Project Management.
· Knowledge of building systems, energy efficiency measures, and equipment commissioning a plus.
· Knowledge of Local Law 97 and/or utility incentive programs.
· Proven experience working with vendors/contractors and managing contractors.
· Knowledge of construction codes and principles a plus.
Skills Requirements:
· Must have excellent communication skills and be fluent in English – written and verbal.
· Must be detail-oriented, organized, and produce consistent high-quality work.
· College degree and/or demonstrated experience completing Energy Engineering projects.
· Skilled in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
