Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWayside Recovery Center's Wellness Center is seeking an Outpatient Counselor.  This position provides individual, group counseling, assessment, and coordination services for women through Wayside’s Outpatient Services.

The candidate will have current MN Licensure.  The position can be remote, but the qualified candidate should be available to come into the office for onsite trainings and meetings.

COMPENSATION:  starting $65K

SCHEDULE: Mon-Thur, 12:30-8:30pm and Fri, 9am-4pm


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties including, but not limited to, the following:
  • Provide direct services to clients including interviewing potential clients, assessment, treatment/aftercare planning, individual counseling, and monitoring/evaluating client progress.
  • This role will maintain a caseload of clients to oversee their treatment services.
  • Facilitate therapeutic, educational, and didactic groups on co-occurring topics.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and complete records, including but not limited to: documenting client assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, aftercare plans/case management, and discharge summaries.
  • Maintain on-going communication with referral sources, including written progress reports.
  • Role model behavior, which is consistent with and supportive to people in recovery from substance use disorder. Such behavior will include upholding ethical standards of the program and reliable attendance.
  • Assist in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Serve as a liaison to and/or provide in-services to chemical dependency and other related community service agencies as appropriate.
  • Complete comprehensive assessments or updates as needed
  • Participate in in-services, workshops, class work, and other continuing education relative to quality client care.
  • Participate in clinical supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
    • Must be free problematic substance use for at least two years immediately preceding their hiring and must sign a statement attesting to that fact.
    • LADC required, licensed in MN
    • Pass DHS background study and meet applicable requirements and regulations.
    • Counselor may not provide a treatment service that is outside the scope of their license.
    • Demonstrated ability to relate effectively to women of diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.
    • Organizational skills and excellent computer/email/software skills.
    • Microsoft Outlook/Office experience required.
    • Need current Minnesota driver’s license.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Understanding of 245G licensing and compliance required.
    • Understanding of HIPAA, CFR 42, Client Rights and Mandated Reporting laws.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Dual licensure (LADC and LICSW/LMFT/LPCC) 
    • Three or more years working in the Chemical Health field
    • Experience and strong knowledge of trauma-responsive co-occurring care
    • Program development experience
