Job DescriptionJob DescriptionNew Oakland Family Centers provides comprehensive behavioral health and substance abuse services for consumers across Michigan, in both outpatient and partial hospitalization settings.

Location: Okemos with consistent travel to Flint, Portage and Grand Rapids and other New Oakland Family Centers locations as needed.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm or other full-time equivalent. Additional hours may be available under Transend Transportation.

Reports To: President / Director of Operations / Business Operations Supervisor / Behavioral Health Technician Supervisor / Clinical Director / Clinical Supervisor

Compensation: Hourly Employee; $17-$18/hour. Commensurate with experience.

Position Summary: The Transport Technician position is a full-time position comprised of multiple clinical and administrative responsibilities related to the FACE to FACE Partial Hospital Day and Outpatient Programs. The position will require working closely with the clinical and administrative staff and consumers. Additionally, supporting the site with courier services.

Essential Duties / Functions:

  • Provide FACE to FACE PHP services in accordance with professional standards and the policies/procedures of the facility.
  • Transportation of consumers to and from the facility in observance of all safety requirements.
  • Adhere to rotation schedules; both milieu and monitoring of clientele until under supervision of parent/legal guardian.
  • Courier services when necessary: transport of items between offices, to vendors, etc. as needed.
  • Ferrying/transporting fleet vehicles to dealerships/workshops for any maintenance needs
  • Help with furniture organization/moving and stock control/ordering.
  • Appropriately handle any crisis situation that may occur such as: CPI-approved physical intervention if necessary; CPR if necessary and pursuing eloping clients.
  • Light daily straightening of milieu rooms; replenishing of supplies as needed.
  • Responsible to clean up bodily functions while clients are under driver's care (i.e. urine, feces, emesis etc.).
  • Complete documentation as required by the clinic’s policies/procedures.
  • Communicate daily with clinical and administrative staff regarding clinical and administrative issues/activities, project status, routes, etc.
  • Actively participate as a positive member of the clinic environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Bachelor/Pre-bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or counseling is preferred. Must be able to work well with all types of people and all populations including children, adolescents, and adults. Approved driving record is required.

Working Conditions: Staff needs to be prepared to be actively involved with clients an on occasion may need to use approved CPI techniques or pursue eloping clients. Staff needs to be flexible, as they may be asked to assist with coverage at another site due to census population, absences, etc.
