General Service Technician

Our busy shop is seeking an experienced general service technician to join our automotive service team. You will perform routine maintenance and repairs on customer vehicles, including oil changes, fluid checks and fills, tire rotations, light bulb replacements, and inspections. This position requires some knowledge of the mechanical workings of different types of automobiles. Previous experience as a lube technician or automotive technician is desired. Compensation:

$18 - $22 hourly

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee shop inventories by tracking the use of oil and parts and placing new orders for supplies as necessary
  • Clean the shop floor and all work areas, and ensure all safety regulations are followed
  • Oil and lube the chassis's component parts, and measure the tread depth and tire pressure
  • Advise customers on additional recommended services based on mileage and vehicle history
  • Drain and refill engine oil, as well as inspect and top off transmission, brake, power steering, and coolant fluids, on customer vehicles
Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience as a lube technician or related automotive experience desired
  • Able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be capable of safely using tools, car lifts, and other garage equipment
  • This position requires excellent customer service skills
