Job Title : Adjunct Faculty, Psychology

Description :

Life University seeks applicants for an Adjunct Faculty to serve in our Bachelor of Science degree program in psychology. The program is dedicated to empowering students to think critically about systems, to conduct research, and to realize their potential to thrive, excel, and benefit others. Current faculty have strengths in ethics, mindfulness and compassion, peace studies, positive psychology, addiction counseling, counseling for adolescents, coaching, and industrial/organizational psychology. We are seeking dynamic instructors who can complement or build on these skills, especially those with strengths in multicultural psychology, counseling, and human sexuality. We welcome instructors who bring a creative and student-centered approach to the classroom and online instruction.

Responsibilities:

  1. Comply with the University Honor Code as well as all university and college policies, including those in the Faculty Handbook.
  2. Primarily responsible for the instruction, supervision, and evaluation of students in the classroom as well as course assessments for the department.
  3. Prepare a syllabus for each course taught using the college template.
  4. Teach class in a professional manner, teaching the material that is present in the syllabus and course outline.
  5. Start and end each class on time.
  6. Communicate your teaching and student office hours schedule for each quarter and be present virtually during student office hours.
  7. Appropriately maintain all necessary records for each course taught.
  8. Attend scheduled meetings and events as appropriate and as requested by Assistant Dean of Social Sciences.
  9. Cultivate in oneself and others a commitment to helpfulness, building relationships, collaborating to find the best solution, and serving students with care and integrity.


Requirements:

Education and Experience Requirements

  1. Doctorate (PhD, PsyD, EdD) in Psychology preferred; Master’s degrees in Psychology will be considered, as will graduate studies in related fields with relevant coursework and/or experience.
  2. 3+ years teaching or related experience.
  3. Research in psychology preferred.
