Looking for an Instructor for our Morning Water Exercise classes. Training available.


POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide motivation, instruction and a safe environment to all participants. Provide direct leadership to the participants in each class and encourage and provide a safe and fun environment to participate in water exercise.


GENERAL FUNCTION:

Under the direction of the Aquatics Director or Coordinator, the Water Exercise Instructor will teach and demonstrate water based exercise techniques for program participants, with the goals of increased participant strength and flexibility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Design and implement effective and fun water-based exercise programs for participants. Come to each session prepared
  2. Encourage and motivate participants.
  3. Ensure safety and association rules and procedures are followed. Ensure accidents or injuries are treated and reported.
  4. Follow all aquatics guidelines and policies. Participate in aquatics staff meetings and trainings as required.
  5. Track session attendance and complete required paperwork.
  6. Provide excellent customer service to all members, guests and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. The equivalent to a high school diploma.
  2. One year of experience as a teacher or participant in water exercise activities.
  3. Complete the YMCA New Employee Orientation and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire.
  4. CPR, First Aid Certification recommended.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to swim safely.

Physical abilities to deliver classes and activities as required.

Ability to communicate effectively in leading classes.
