Job DescriptionJob Description

Primary Function:
Perform wax pattern rework requiring great manual dexterity and very close visual attention on complex,
thin walled castings.

Tools and Equipment:
Dental tools, air hose, straight edge, actrel, inspection mirrors, patching wax, storage racks, boroscope, etc.

Material:
Petroleum based waxes, die lubricants and cleaners, rework tools, scotchbrite pads, citric acid, etc.

Direction of Others:
May be required to give guidance and instruction to Wax department employees.

Working Procedure:
Under the guidance and supervision of department supervisor and the group leader, the Senior Wax
Inspector.
THE FOLLOWING ARE THE USUAL MAJOR JOB DUTIES BUT THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT PRECLUDE THE PERFORMANCE OF
OTHER DUTIES BY THE INCUMBENT.
Shall follow all of the safety requirements as posted on the job safety card.
Shall receive daily work assignments from the department supervisor or the department group leader.
Shall consistently follow all applicable work instructions.
Shall, in conformance with the wax instructions, visually inspect wax patterns for unacceptable
defects, such as cracks, chips, flow lines, lettering, distortion, and repairing as necessary, using
extreme care to avoid further damage to the pattern, etc.,
Shall notify the department supervisor or group leader of any recurring problems, or problems that
can't be readily resolved.
Shall maintain all labor vouchers, records and files in a clean and orderly condition, and enter all
required information into the Company software in an accurate and timely manner.
Shall work citric acid area by putting waxes containing solubles into the citric tanks and
removing same after the acid leaching is complete, carefully inspecting waxes for soluble removal.
Shall check internal passageways in wax patterns for wax defects, and also verify that soluble wax
was removed in the leaching operation using a boroscope.
Shall dispose of spent citric acid and prepare new leach bath per quality procedure 00-702-11
Shall maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Shall attend and successfully complete lockout / tagout training classes.
Shall attend and successfully complete hazardous material / waste handling classes.
Shall perform other duties as assigned.

Special Skills Required:
Requires a minimum of three years satisfactory experience as a Wax Injection Operator or
equivalent experience.
Must possess good manual dexterity.
