Job Title: Freshman Class Sponsor

Reports to: MS/HS Principal

Functions:

Student Support and Transition Planning - The Freshman Class Sponsor will collaborate closely with the Middle School-High School (MSHS) Office and counselor to facilitate a seamless transition for our 8th-grade students into 9th grade. This includes planning and conducting a formal 9th-grade orientation program as the school year begins (open house, with additional staff). Such a program can help alleviate the anxieties often associated with the transition to high school.

Fundraising and Financial Responsibility - The Freshman Class Sponsor will be required to fundraise with the freshman class. This financial responsibility is integral to our plan for sustainability and equity among class activities. Specifically, the freshman class will be responsible for raising a minimum of $1,000 annually. These funds will be allocated towards covering expenses for homecoming during the students' sophomore years and saving $500 for their graduation.

Assessment: The job description serves as an assessment and is handled by the MS/HS Principal as needed.
